Online Security and Fraud Prevention Information

Whether it is a security breach at a major company or malware on your personal computer there is always something to watch out for on the Internet. Here are some resources to help prevent fraud or help you recover if you have been the victim of identity theft.

Getting Your Credit Report

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the major nationwide consumer reporting companies – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.  The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have established a central website and a toll-free telephone number through which you can order your free annual report.
